El puente que une Cipolletti con Neuquén condensa 80 años de historia. Marcó a fuego el desarrollo de esta región que desde hace poco comenzaron a llamar “Metrópoli de la Confluencia”. También, en ese sector que vincula a Río Negro con Neuquén, se sucedieron un sinfín de hechos que han quedado grabados en el recuerdo y en la memora colectiva de la gente. El peaje es uno de ellos.

La historia comenzó en 1937, cuando se inauguró el llamado “puente viejo”. Llegó luego el segundo, en 1997, 60 años más tarde y motivado por el fuerte crecimiento que tuvo la región entre 1980 y 1990.

En octubre del año pasado se inauguró el tan esperado tercer puente y ya se licitó la construcción de una cuarta vía que comunique a Río Negro con Neuquén y a Cipolletti con la capital neuquina.

Hoy se comenzó a remover parte de ese pasado, que estaba representado por las cabinas del expeaje que tanta controversia generó. En un mes y medio la multitrocha quedará libre, pero la memoria seguirá recordando, al menos unos cuantos puntos de aquel pasado que hoy vuelve a estar en boca de todos.
